My first proper weekend in Wellington involved experiencing the Rugby 7's weekend. After spending the first week acclimatising to the weather... suffering bad hay fever, and chasing down a ticket for this event and trying to get a last minute costume, the day finally arrived. I managed to get a pirate outfit from the Costume Cave and head on out to the event. Met up with other friends in their various costumes and headed to the Westpac Stadium. Some very impressive efforts went in to the costumes and in particular, I was very impressed with my friends' pop art replication!

Lots and lots of amazing costumes and as I don't really watch rugby I was a little lost on the game but it was still well worth the experience. Obviously, I cheered for England. Haha, sorry NZ but I just arrived and honestly, there's no real chance of converting my loyalty... As much as I enjoy it here! :)

After the matches there was a massive exodus in the rain to Courtenay Place where they shut off the traffic for a massive street party. We were predicted good weather for this weekend but it turned out to be pretty rubbish. The rain did not stop the party one bit. It went on all night long...
